Ephesians 4:13-14 – We have very clearly seen in Ephesians that God loves the church and intends that every person who claims to follow Christ connects himself with other people who claim to follow Christ – called the local church.
No such thing as a Christian that’s not part of the church.
John Stott called an “unchurched Christian” a “grotesque anamoly.” Saying, “The New Testament knows nothing of such a person. For the church lies at the very center of the eternal purpose of God. It is not a divine afterthought. It is not an accident of history. On the contrary, the church is God’s new community.”
God’’s plan for every Christian is not isolation and self-sufficiency. Rather, every follower of Jesus is part of the church. And God’s plan for every church is that Christians are being equipped and are doing the work of ministry for the building up of the body.
The result of equipped, working saints, building up the body of Christ – body building – nutrition – adding health, growth, maturity.
