Ephesians 4:26-27 – This is not a condemnation of anger on the whole. Paul IS giving us a category for Christian anger. Anger is not intrinsically sinful. Paul IS affirming the appropriateness of anger on certain occasions.
HOWEVER…He is also drawing attention to the difficulty in actually achieving “sinless anger.” This is where we humans live and wrestle with anger.
Anger is always a question of kingdoms: When someone crosses the line, bringing marauding forces into an opposition kingdom. If the attack is against God’s kingdom: A response of anger is righteous, when the values of God’s kingdom are being plundered. If the attack is against my kingdom: A response of anger is unrighteous, when I defend the values of my kingdom.
