Romans 12:9-16 – Romans 12:9 begins, “Let love be genuine”. Then, for the rest of the chapter, Paul describes genuine love. That is the simple point of the rest of Romans 12: This is genuine love.
The first section, Romans 12:9-16, relates primarily to those within the church (love within the body). The second section, Romans 12:17-21, relates primarily to those outside the church (love from the body to those not part of the body).
This is the first section where Paul describes “Eight Characteristics of Genuine Love”.
