Genesis 18:1-15 – Jesus carried the power of God with him. He often displayed that power when human powerlessness (or human barrenness) was at fever pitch. Jesus’ power over death was the ultimate expression of God’s power working through him. In fact, when speaking with the Sadducees about the resurrection, Jesus proclaimed that their doubts stemmed from them “knowing neither the Scriptures nor the power of God” (Matthew 22:29).
In Genesis 18, God calls his people to trust him, even when all hope seems lost…when there is not human way forward. This sermon is NOT about hospitality to strangers. The central question is: Is anything too hard for the Lord?
